well actually the player skills are most relevant in CS. Also, most of the stages aren't very tactical, or at least not after a gazillion times you've played them. The tactics are limited per se, and additionally a good "tactic" doesn't really matter in (pro) CS, just player shooting/avoiding skills. In Battlefield or Americas Army for example, the stages are so huge that they give you limitless strategies to use, especially because of the use of vehicles. CS limits its tactics to the most elementary decisions, as choosing a long, medium or short distance gun, considering your investments bit (ie "should I buy jacket/helmet or not?"), and choosing how many people station where to or go which one of the 2 to 5 ways.

I'm not a fan of CS, but there is much more to the game than that.

Besides the fact that the enemies are getting a bit dull after a few hours, Bioshock is amazing. I'd have to say I love the music that pops up in the gameplay. It works well with the atmosphere.

Going to install BF2: Project Reality mod when my new laptop comes, and when i'm bored of that, play through HL2E1+2 (without crashes hopefully!) and then either give oblivion another go or get bioshock i think.

Is bioshock good then? i was watching a trailer the other day and it didnt look the best of games, but maybe the gameplay is what makes it good. I did hear that there are lots of different outcomes in each situation. I have a ps3 so i wonder what it will be like when its out on that in October.

Bioshock is amazing. There's only 2 different outcomes, but how you want to play the game is left up to you. Destroy turrets, disable them, etc. It's stuff like that. Not insanely in-depth, but it's got more variety and options than most games.
It's the environment and immersive combined with the story and gameplay and how each are fleshed out that make it great. You can't really feel that from a trailer.

what Dustin said. The best thing is the atmosphere, it's wonderful.

I wished the ending(s) had been fleshed out more but I could definitely dig the atmosphere.

rubbish. Well you were really only given two choices, lulz. The extremeness of each ending I guess is supposed to make up for the lack of explanations. Symbolically, they're what you said. Angel or crazy fuck. You can use your own mind as to what would happen after each one... though the "good" ending is way more fleshed out.

Well, it was a little heavy handed. On my Hard playthrough I killed 4/5 LS, and saved the rest. I still got the EVIL BASTARD!!! ending, despite saving the majority of them.
I know why they were as they were, but a tad more subtlety would have been nice.

I think it was that theyslapped the endings in pretty quickly because someone in marketing advertised that there were multiple endings when there weren't at the time.

but as i stated, you pretty much have to save all of them to get the good ending, as i understand it.
you are either good or bad at the end, but the choice isn't binary. You can save some, harvest others, and end up bad. and by bad, i mean REALLY bad.
